Feb 7 meeting contributes to knowledge sharing agenda

The NIMR Mwanza February 7th planning meeting surfaced two areas that will influence the knowledge sharing agenda this year:

• Development and use of a respository- to archive and track all NIMR Mwanza's old and new studies.
• Mobile technology utilization - Identifying innovative ways to utilize mobile technology to support NIMR Mwanza's work.

Repository discussion highlights........

Supportive technology:

• NADA - Ready made open source web based tool that can be used for developing the repository.  
• Nesstar publisher - An Advanced Data Management (ADM) tool to use to prepare data and documentation for publication.
• DDI 2.5  -  Data Documenation Initiative an international data standard to support a research data lifecycle.
• Pentaho kettle -  An ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) that is meta-driven.

Challenges: Human resource capacity for documentation activities is lacking.
